Billing and Premium

What stays free, what Premium unlocks, and how Abolitus time-based payments work.

Abolitus separates basic chat functionality from premium continuity features.

That distinction matters because many users assume Premium is buying model access.

It is not.

The Short Version

Premium pays for encrypted continuity features.

It does not pay your model provider bill, your speech provider bill, or your local hardware costs.

If you remember only one thing from this page, remember that.

What Is Free

Free use includes the core local-first workspace:

  • local chat runtime,
  • cloud-provider or local model routes that you configure yourself,
  • exact encrypted backup export,
  • characters, personas, lorebooks, commands, samplers, and most creative controls.

In other words, the core act of chatting and building a creative workspace is not locked behind Premium.

What Premium Unlocks

Premium is about encrypted convenience and remote continuity.

Current premium features include:

  • background E2EE Cloud Sync,
  • Desktop Tunnel access,
  • and related cross-device continuity flows built on the same premium control-plane model.

The best way to think about Premium is not "better chat."

Think of it as "better continuity between devices and sessions."

What Premium Does Not Pay For

Premium does not replace your provider bill.

You still pay separately for:

  • OpenRouter if you use OpenRouter,
  • NanoGPT if you use NanoGPT,
  • TTS providers if you use speech,
  • and your own electricity and hardware if you run local models.

This distinction is important because confusion here leads to bad budgeting decisions.

Pricing Structure

Abolitus currently uses time-extension style payments rather than forced recurring billing.

Available plan types include:

  • 30-Day Extension: $20.
  • 365-Day Extension: $150.
  • Founder's Pass: $199 lifetime, limited to the first 200 verified purchases globally.

These plans extend premium access immediately when activated.

The practical effect is that Premium behaves like prepaid access time rather than like a subscription that quietly renews forever.

What the Plans Actually Mean

30-Day Extension

Best when you want to top up a shorter window without committing to a long span.

365-Day Extension

Best when you already know you want long-term continuity features and prefer the standard yearly rate.

Founder's Pass

Best when you want lifetime access and the limited founder inventory is still available.

Payment Methods

The checkout system supports multiple crypto ecosystems and token groups.

Supported asset groups include:

  • USDC,
  • USDT,
  • and selected native coins.

Supported network families include:

  • Solana,
  • Base,
  • Arbitrum,
  • Polygon,
  • Ethereum,
  • BNB Smart Chain,
  • and TRON.

Available assets vary by network, but the checkout model is built around stablecoin and native-asset payment paths rather than one single chain.

Good Mental Model

Think of Premium as paying for:

  • encrypted continuity,
  • remote coordination and transport,
  • and cross-device convenience.

Do not think of it as paying to unlock the core act of local or routed chat.

Important Limit: Billing Does Not Move the Trust Boundary

Buying Premium does not turn the service into a plaintext operator of your vault.

It does not mean:

  • the service now holds your provider keys,
  • the service can read your private workspace just because you paid,
  • or the service becomes a normal recoverable content host.

You are paying for continuity features, not for a change in who is allowed to know your secrets.
